Wiosna van Bon (1992) is a half Polish half Dutch photographer from Nijmegen who recently graduated from documentary photography at the Royal Academy of Art. She grew up around socialistic and activist ideals and this has influenced the work that she makes.

The human being is always in the centre of her projects. She is fascinated by the lonely, unequal groups – of those who, despite everything, preserve, researching subjects which are connected to psychology and are about ethical questions in life. Van Bon treats her photos as poems, combining them by rhythm, metaphors and symbols. Like in poetry, she enjoys it when steps are taken at a skip and cross-links are made; when there is little said and shown but much is implied, and when stories are visible and sense-able between lines and photos. As an imagemaker, she aims to find the perfect balance between story, content and form, investigating the boundaries of documentary photography.

In 2015 she had a 6-months internship with Jaap Scheeren and Henk Wildschut. In 2017 she was commissioned to photograph for an informative brochure used nationally for the Ministry of Security and Justice of the Netherlands.

Currently, she is working as a freelance photographer, both on self-initiated projects and commissioned assignments.
